Not all of these will be 2024 releases. But they’re all albums I discovered this year and have been listening to a lot. How does an album get to be on this page? Well, it’s a little bit of feeling, but also data-informed from my Last.fm activity. You can see more about my listening data (and get some song recommendations!) at music.elezea.com.

Ohio Players by The Black Keys (2024)

The Black Keys had a string of albums that brought them back to form over the past few years, and this one is another solid entry that’s getting a lot of play around here.

A LA SALA by Khruangbin (2024)

Any new Khruangbin album is a gift, but this one is particularly wonderful. A chill, stylish throwback to their earlier work. This one is going to get a lot of play this year.

Dreams You Don’t Forget by Night Traveler (2022)

If you’re into almost-synthwave like The Paper Kites, this one is going to be for you. I love the shimmery, kinda sad but also upbeat sound.

Every Moment, Everything You Need by Deserta (2022)

I haven’t always been into shoegaze, but this year I’m really into big, emotional, long-delay electric guitars. And this album provides that in spades. Can’t stop listening to this one.
