I have been writing Elezea since August 2009, and I want to make sure it remains sustainable for the long haul.
The Elezea blog and newsletter take a few hours each week to research and manage, and I want to continue to give it the time and attention it deserves. To do that, I provide the option to become a patron for those who would like to support the ongoing time, energy, and cost of researching, writing, and maintaining this work.
Patronage funds go directly to covering domain, hosting, and site performance costs; subscription costs for the tools I use to collect, process, and manage content for the site and the newsletter; and (so meta!) membership management costs1. Perhaps most importantly, patrons keep Elezea independent and free from advertising.
- A free copy of my book on product management (PDF format).
- Early access to the slides for my seasonal talks.
- Take some of the production pressure off while keeping the content available to everyone.
Some fine print
All payments are by credit card through Memberful with Stripe as the payment processor. You will receive some email from Memberful regarding your payments — invoices, renewal notices, etc. Your email address and personal information will never be given to anyone else, for any purpose. You can cancel your membership at any time, for any reason, with absolutely zero hard feelings.
For those interested, the tools I use that have a monthly cost include MailChimp (newsletter management); DreamHost (site hosting); Cloudflare and Amazon AWS/CloudFront (CDN, Domain, and DNS management); FeedPress (providing RSS feeds); Ulysses (writing software); and Feedbin, Instapaper, and Pinboard (article reading and saving). ↩
